Jean Piaget was born in Switzerland in 1896. After receiving his doctoral degree at age 22, he started work in psychology and education, especially on children intellectual development. According to him children are not less intelligent than adults, children think differently. His Cognitive Development theory describes the stages of cognitive development in children, which involves changes in process and abilities.
Growth and development in education has specific meanings and both are relates to each other. Growth is indicative i.e. increase in body, size, weight etc while Development is not indicative. Growth is quantitative progress and Development is qualitative progress.
